1930s Tailored Jacket - Mahogany Herringbone

The shining star of our new collection! Our 1930s inspired tailored jacket returns in Mahogany herringbone, our richest brown wool yet... a special edition for autumn and winter. She completes our Mahogany country look and is just as lovely worn as a jacket in her own right.

With some stunning vintage features - this jacket, made here in Yorkshire will fit with '40s styles too.

If you're a fan of good tailoring and enjoy a sophisticated yet feminine style, you will love this stunning 1930s inspired jacket. We have taken inspiration from photos, old patterns and catalogues from the mid to late 1930s - but this jacket will take you through to the 40s too.

Jacket definately has features seen on many 'country' or 'active' styles so popular in the 1930s where outdoor pursuits were becoming de rigeur. Note the action back - an inverted pleat running down the centre back from the shoulders which was a 1930s sporting tailoring detail that lets the arms move freely, added here for both ease of fit and function. The front patch pockets echo its lines. A notch lapel has the classic V-shaped notch where collar meets lapel, and the herringbone weave forms a distinctive V-shaped, zigzag pattern in the cloth

Jacket is quite tailored to fit nicely on the waist to give a slimming and elegant silhouette - two button fastening. Notch lapel and width of lapel reflects the styles of the time. Two piece sleeve is a particular favourite of the designer and gives a lovely feel and fit.

Style it with our 1930s Flutter Skirt or Ladies Plus Fours, both in matching Mahogany Herringbone, or build a full look from our 1930s suits.
